    Essential Duties

    The Healthcare Compliance Intern is responsible for providing administrative support to the Compliance Officer.  Responsible for researching issues that directly impact the organization and presenting the results of that research to the Compliance Officer for further action.  Also responsible for maintaining entity policy and procedure manuals.  Will work with various departments within the organization to obtain information which is relevant to specific compliance projects.

     

    • Research issues in the following areas: healthcare compliance, Medicare, HIPAA, OSHA, TJC and ACHC sleep accreditation and present findings to Compliance Officer
    • Summarize research issues that are relevant to the organization
    • Work with regulatory authorities to update and maintain AFC and affiliate entities (i.e., Accrediting bodies, AHCA, State of Florida, Medicare)
    • Develop and organize Medical Directorship compliance items
    • Work with various departments within the organization to obtain information for specific compliance projects
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    General Job Responsibilities

    • High School Diploma or equivalent is required. 
    • Currently pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or other relevant degree program

    • Ability to take accurate notes and produce written communications effectively
    • Proficiency in managing details and working with speed and accuracy
    • Ability to use a high degree of discretion in sensitive situations
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Possess a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
    • Ability to produce written communications, proofread documents and make grammatical corrections
    • Advanced computer data entry skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, with the ability to navigate through any business-related software
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
