General Job Responsibilities

 

  • Verify eligibility and benefits on all patient referrals
  • Obtain verbal and written authorizations from the appropriate source
  • Ensure necessary requirements are met so there are no bumps in the road!
  • Validate insurance information for acuracy and completeness…did you see “accuracy” was spelled wrong?
  • Resolve discrepancies and problem solve more than 2+2
  • Coordinate with referring offices for complete patient information
  • Communicate all financial responsibilities and additional information for processing insurance requests efficiently, like we know you can!

General Job Requirements

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years’ verification experience
  • 1+ years’ experience in using an EMR system
  • Experience in dealing with third party payor sources
  • Knowledge of navigating insurance processes and interpretation of EOB
  • Ability to communicate effectively with referral sources, staff, patients, and insurance companies
  • Adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and be highly organized
  • Read, evaluate, and interpret data
  • Perform mathematical functions
  • We do not need a bodybuilder or Olympic athlete, but you must be able and willing to sit and stand for extended periods of time; frequent kneeling, stooping, bending, crawling; frequent use of fingers and hands; reaching with hands and arms above and below shoulder height; frequent patient interaction; speaking and listening
