Essential Duties

The Business Development Specialist will support the pursuit, creation and expansion of client relationships to obtain new business in expanding markets. The Business Development Specialist is responsible for assisting the growth and development of the Company’s business activities. They are also in charge of analyzing business processes and identifying opportunities to generate additional revenue. They research industries to find patterns and emerging trends to recommend changes for their organization. They also help implement growth strategies, participate in business meetings, and recommend changes to existing business practices to increase exposure and revenue.

General Job Responsibilities

  • Compilation of territory contacts and targets, specifically Neurologists, Primary Care Physicians and Hospital Systems, for our Medical Territory Sales Representatives
  • Help determine payor mix in new counties and sub-counties to determine patient demographics for self-pay patients, private insurance, Medicare and Medicaid
  • Assist with conducting competitor analysis and assist Analysts in the creation of competitor marketing strategy course of action plan
  • Tracking of organization key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide week over week data comparisons to forecast and identify workforce needs and company growth
  • Stay abreast of market trends and help identify growth opportunities
  • Assist as a point of contact between the internal operations team and the external Company sales force.
  • Assist in the identification of real estate for new office locations
  • Help gain market intelligence in new territories
  • Identify problems and develop solutions
  • Assist in making recommendations for new markets based on market forecast
  • Assist in the creation of presentations to management for business opportunities and problem resolutions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

General Job Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required, degree in Business is preferred

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, including Word and Excel
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Ability to work under strict timelines
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with competing priorities

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Repetitive movement of fingers and hands
  • Talking and hearing
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Clarity of vision at 20 feet or less

Mental Requirements:

  • Read, evaluate and interpret data. Present alternative actions in relation to the evaluation
  • Determine time, place and sequence of operations or actions to be taken on the basis of analysis of date
  • Perform mathematical functions

Work Environment:

  • Standard office environment
