Essential Duties

The Manager, Human Resources is responsible for assisting the Director, Human Resources in providing strategic direction and input regarding overall human resources strategies that support the culture, company direction and the growth needs of the business and employees. Responsible for implementing and managing human resources policies and programs in the areas of recruitment, employee relations, compliance, employment and HRIS. Appropriately evaluate and resolve complex human resources issues within a fast paced and changing business environment.

General Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure legal compliance with all applicable local, state and federal employment laws, including FLSA FMLA, EEO and ADAAA to minimize risk/exposure to the company
  • Provide consultative support to managers and supervisors
  • Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing and commission reporting
  • Hire, train and manage performance and development of direct reports
  • Monitor processes and ensure accurate maintenance of employee files and HRIS database
  • Oversee annual enrollment
  • Help manage organizational change
  • Review and oversee unemployment and workers compensation claims
  • Participate in budget planning and assist in managing expenses
  • Oversee departmental communications
  • Participate in company initiatives
  • Oversee performance review process
  • Perform other duties as assigned

General Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years of HR experience with a strong generalist background is required

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in HRIS. Prior experience with ExponentHR is a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, EEO
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to lead/manage projects
  • Creativity and flexibility in accomplishing demanding work tasks and schedules under pressure
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with competing priorities
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Ability to effectively supervise the work of others

Required Licenses/Certification:

  • Current driver license with proof of valid automobile insurance

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
